We have always gifted food, trinkets, even things we’ve handmade from sticks and flowers, to the Sasquatch. We feel we are in their home, and, in a sense, invading their space, so an offering of a gift is only appropriate and the proper thing to do! Call us old fashioned but we were taught manners. π
I want to tell you about the gifts we set out everyday! First the food gifts…we would always make up an aluminum tray packed very nicely with various foods. Sandwiches, apples, cookies, hot dogs, even chocolate at times. We always put the tray inside the crook of this very large and beautiful tree.

First night at our favorite campsite, we set out the gifting tray. No trail cams were up. Here’s the before and after pics.

As you can see, only 1/2 of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich was taken. One of the sugar cookies is partially under the tray. One apple was moved as well as the licorice had fallen over. Now some out there would say the critters got it. Don’t think so. Look closely at the jelly glob in the after pic…jelly that could only have fallen out as the sandwich was picked up! Besides, no crumbs, no destroyed tray, no food scattered all over the place…the half of sandwich was very nicely taken out.
No, we don’t believe it was a critter. Something with hands took that sandwich. Besides, critters would have taken advantage of ALL the food in the tray and would have made a mess of it. Nope, not a critter.
Well, I’m going to end here for now. More coming up later with the food gifting. Just remember, this tray was set up without a trail cam close by….more about that later.
Okay everyone…it’s getting late. Monday will be here soon enough. Ugh. Hope you all have a good one! Keep on search’n! π
